I'm not a car person, and I know hardly anything about cars. But I had the most amazing experience recently when I got to drive a rally car on a track! The closest I've come to rally driving experiences was on go karting tracks, and that was nothing like this!

The experience of being inside a rally car and being in control this vehicle that you know has huge accelerating power is quite amazing. Not to mention how much fun it is to drive on the bumpy and muddy tracks that these cars are built to handle.

I'm not a car enthusiast and I don't even play one of those popular racing games, but even for me, this was one of the most exhilarating experiences I've had. I would do it again, just for the pure thrill of it all! (more...)

Most cars these days belong in one of two main categories. They are either just a box on wheels, or motorised sofa, to transport a family around, or else they are out and out supercars that are superb to look at and have outrageous performance but are out of most people's reach. If you like to fantasize there are plenty of pictures of such dream machines at Stella cars and similar websites.

There are a few cars that manage to be almost all things to all men, with sufficient performance to satisfy most, but which are practical enough to use every day. The best is probably the Porsche 911, and some modern hot hatches come close, like the top of the range Renault Megane 265 and the Ford Focus RS.
